Ravens Beefing Up Offense (Again)

The Baltimore Ravens added a veteran tight end to their offense. Thursday they agreed to a one-year deal with former Houston Texan Owen Daniels pending a physical. Financial terms not released.

The 31-year old Daniels will reunite with Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak. Kubiak is the former Houston Texans head coach, Daniels played for him during his eight-year career in Houston.

He will also reunite with Ravens tight ends coach Brian Pariani who came to Baltimore with Kubiak.

Daniels made the Pro Bowl in 2008 and 2012. During his career with the Texans he had the second most career receptions with 385, 4,617 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns.

In 2012 he had 62 catches for 716 yards and six touchdowns. Last season Daniels missed 11 games with a broken leg.

He was released by the Texans on March 11 with a “failed physical” designation.  The Redskins and Packers showed interest, but Daniels chose the Ravens.

Assuming Daniels passes his physical, he will be a valuable asset to the Ravens offense, he can help his teammates adjust to Kubiak’s play calling. He brings a lot of experience to the table, a player quarterback Joe Flacco will connect with on the field.

I like the signing, just hope he passes his physical…
